We are pleased to announce Lamar Elementary School will be receiving 650 pairs of new shoes on April 12th, 2013.  Congratulations Lamar Elementary, you earned it!

 

The B STRONG Shoe Giveaway is an annual event run by the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation, which selects a local elementary school, and distributes new tennis shoes to all its’ students. Schools are chosen based on the percentage of economically disadvantaged that make up their enrollment, and the school’s willingness to help the children earn their shoes through physical fitness and positive behavior.

Over the past five years, the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation has distributed more than 2,000 pairs of shoes to students at Aoy Elementary, Roberts Elementary, Hart Elementary and Travis Elementary schools. Students earn their shoes by demonstrating positive behavior and participating in the B STRONG program and events. 

The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation is a volunteer organization that has distributed more than $500,000 of in kind and monetary donations to our area schools and athletes since 2007. The funding for this Foundation comes from our yearly Run/Walk, which allows the Foundation to continue to give back to this great community. The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation was formed to ensure children from all walks of life could have some of the same opportunities Braden enjoyed in his lifetime. The Foundation provides an avenue through sports that will help promote positive self-esteem and create lifelong friendships amongst the children in our community!

Applications for the B STRONG Shoe Giveaway will be accepted for August 1st, 2012 to October 31st, 2012.
