B Warm Campaign

We are pleased to announce the 2012 B WARM Blanket Drive gathered and distributed over 1,700 blankets to those in need this holiday season.  A big thank you to all of the participating schools, businesses, individuals, and The El Paso Times for all of their support!

The B Warm Blanket drive is an annual event that seeks to promote awareness within our community about the need to provide relief to those seeking help during the winter months. Unlike other foundation projects, this blanket drive goes beyond the youth related theme, and encompasses all individuals of all ages in need of assistance.

In 2007, Braden took a keen interest in developing this type of project when he noticed a local agency's plea for help on an evening newscast.   Although some initial planning was discussed among friends and family members, the B Warm Blanket Drive did not kick-off until October 20, 2007. Coordinated by the Coronado High School class of 2011, the drive surpassed collection totals of more than 1000 blankets in a one month period. The blankets were distributed throughout the city by utilizing various drop-off and pick-up points coordinated by the Foundation and the El Paso Police Department.

Partnerships with the EPISD and the El Paso County Sheriff's Department in 2009, enabled organizers to expand its countywide distribution and collection points to areas not previously identified. These foundation partners are significantly responsible for the collection and distribution of 2500 blankets in December 2011.

As this community continues to embrace this worthwhile project, the blanket recipients can wrap themselves in the warmth of the spirit of Braden and his vision to help those that cannot always help themselves B Warm.
